Adding a new button to a Word toolbar

by VideoTutor · 3 comments

If you’ve got a feature you use in Word pretty often, you probably hate having to go through the menu system to get to it. You know the drill: click on Tools, scroll down to Letters and Mailings, mouse across to Envelopes and Labels …

Do that enough times a day, and you’re ready to tear your hair out, right?

One easier way to handle such common tasks is to add a button for that feature to your toolbar. Here’s how:

(To get this full-screen, click the button in the lower-right-hand corner of the video player.)

This way, you always have one-click access to that feature, which can save you a ton of time and frustration.

As I said in the video, you can use this for virtually any feature you want in Word, so customize those toolbars to your heart’s content!

Outstanding. I love when you said “one button – one click access”.

Can the screen be enlarged for ease of reading?

“Can the screen be enlarged for ease of reading?”

Actually, yes, and I should point that out specifically on every video.

With the videos that are hosted on YouTube, there is a button next to the volume button on the right-hand side (just under the YouTube logo) that will enlarge the video to full-screen. Once the video’s finished playing, hitting the Escape key will return it to the reduced size.

I will remember from now on to point that out in all my videos and will update the ones that are already loaded to point to that “full-screen” button. Thanks for the feedback!
