  1. The Section Break C-1 of 2 did not work. I kept getting C-1 of 1 and C-2 of 1. I ended up manually changing the 1 to a 2 to get the result C-1 of 2 and C-2 of 2. I tried numerous times following your instructions but could not make Word behave with my C-1 of section break. Thank you for any help to solving this for me.

    1. Go into your footer, press ALT-F9, and compare what you see to this:

      Section Pages

Particularly check what I’ve highlighted. What you describe tells me the field you used wasn’t SECTIONPAGES. Either that, or your section breaks are messed up such that your current section only has one page.

Let me know what you find.

      1. Hello Deborah:

I followed your suggestion and the ALT-F9 on my documents shows exactly as yours. However, after many attempts the only way I was able to make the section pages work was to insert a Page Break between Page 2 and Page 3.

I was unable to attached my Word document.
